Laura was born and raised in Statesville, NC, where she graduated from Statesville Senior High School. She has a daughter, Brandi, and one grandson, Brycyn, for whom she has a very big, soft spot in her heart. Her Boxer, Kendra, rounds out her family. Laura started with the Animal Hospital of Statesville in February of 1986 as a Client Services Representative. In 2001, she was promoted to Business Administrator. In 2002 and 2003, she attended the Levels 1 and 2 AAHA Veterinary Management courses at Webster Veterinary University in Charlotte, NC. When Laura was 19, she was searching for a job that she enjoyed. Her mother knew the owners of AHS at that time. With several years of customer service experience and her love for animals, she though this job would be the perfect fit for her. Once she was employed, she KNEW she was meant to be here for many years to come. Almost 3 decades later, she still feels like she made the right choice to work at the Animal Hospital of Statesville. The rapid onset of technology has really expanded Laura’s job description, and she’s made great strides in developing our website, mobile app, and managing the everyday goings-on of a busy animal hospital. She’s a very organized and determined person, and has contributed loads of energy to make the Animal Hospital of Statesville what it is today. She’s become an accomplished shagger – dancing, that is!
Jada grew up in Troutman, NC and graduated from South Iredell High School. She now lives in Statesville with her husband, Erik, and their 3 children, Briana, Steven and Wesley. Their pets include 2 dogs (Chopper and Hannah), and a cat (Missy). Jada started with the Animal Hospital of Statesville in June of 1998. At that time, she was a Kennel Assistant, but later became the Kennel Manager. In March of 2002, Jada went back to school to receive her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) degree. She continued to work part-time as a Client Services Representative. Jada returned to her full-time position in January of 2004 and was promoted to Client Services Director. Jada is a dynamo – very active in organizing the local Bark for Life, and active also in her church and other community outreach events. Family is of utmost importance to her, and she spends as much time as possible involved with her children’s activities and spending time with her husband. Small but mighty – That’s our Jada!

Carol is another “outsider” – born in Oak Park, IL, but growing up in Rolling Meadows, IL. She graduated from Forest View High School. She and husband Bill, have been married over 37 years and they have one son, Matt. They recently added a spoiled granddaughter to their family group! Carol and Bill also have a Miniature Pinscher (affectionately and more precisely known around here as “Land Shark”) Rudy. Carol loves to cook and share recipes, which we eagerly await! She’s always watching “The Chew” on TV during her lunch break. She’s also an avid reader. Everyone loves Carol. She has a vicious, fun sense of humor – you just never know what’s going to come out of her mouth! She’s a treat and a treasure! Carol has been at AHS since 2007 and says she loves working with animals. We’ve been led to believe that we, as staff members, are also in the “animals” category….
Elly was born in Winston-Salem, NC and grew up in Statesville, NC. She graduated from North Iredell High School, where she concentrated on her interest in Art. (She painted all the little cats and dogs in our lobby!) Elly attended Penn Foster College, where she earned her Veterinary Assisting diploma and Teacher Aide Diploma. Elly lives with her dogs Sam and Siouxie and a herd of beef cattle. Elly is our “Jack of all trades”. She worked as a Kennel Technician and cross-trained as a Veterinary Nurse. She’s now on to Client Services Representative. Her varied experiences since starting with us in 2007 make her invaluable. Elly is generally quiet, but sometimes surprises us with periods of orneriness. She is an appreciated “clean freak”, and is super-motivated and organized! Elly is a quiet whirlwind!

Hannah’s immediate family consists of her son, Billy, as well an Australian Shepherd named (Bella), a Terrier mix named Lucy, 3 cats (Gemma, Granny and Wilson) and a hamster named Buddy. She joined our staff as a Client Services Representative in the summer of 2013. She is a piece of work – always energetic, fearless, very “girly”, and quirky-funny! She’s been a great addition to our team with her prior experience and her bubbly personality. Hannah loves spending time with her son, working in the yard and playing with her furbabies. She enjoys riding four-wheelers and riding horses. She knows all the lines to movies…..amazing!
Abby is a local girl – born in Statesville and grew up in Olin. She attended high school at Gethsemane Christian Academy and after graduation, she took one
semester at Mitchell Community College before going on to work at Asmo where she learned line keeping. Abbie has jumped right in to life at AHS – working both as a receptionist and as a kennel technician.
Abby has one pet – a male bearded dragon named Zeus. Though she only has one pet herself, she loves seeing, playing and learning about all kinds of animals, especially reptiles. She came to the Animal Hospital of Statesville to put her love for animals to work, caring for them.
