A native of Northern Michigan, Billie Erving was born and raised in a small town on the edge of the Pigeon River State Forest. This setting was the start of her love for nature and the land.
With a degree in Commercial Art, and a love for Photography, she brings to her work a sense of realism, working mainly from her photos and visual images. Choosing to work in black and white for her art, she allows the viewer to play a participation roll in the scenes she depicts by letting their imaginations add the color. “Part of the fun of owning a piece of art work is the interaction you have with it.”
Billie has won numerous awards with her art and photography. She has been published in a number of publications and outdoor magazines as well as Best of Photography. Her art was also featured on the television show Michigan Magazine on two separate airing dates. Billie has also donated pieces of art to help raise money for various charities. She is present her art and photography to the State of North Carolina for the first time.
