Kristin, Guest Service Technician

Kristin was born and raised in Statesville and graduated from North Iredell High School.  She studied basic grooming for dogs, so she was a natural to join our kennel technician staff.  Kristin lives on a farm and has as family 5 dogs (Tank, Turbo, Tutu, Bullet & Lilly), 1 goat (Boots), 1 horse (Trinity) and 1 donkey (Jack), so she knows her way around critters!  Life on a farm suits her to a tee – riding horses, farming, fishing and hunting.  She pursued employment at AHS as a natural extension of her life on their farm.  She cares for her farm animals, so it was an easy and comfortable transition to care for the dogs and cats in our boarding facility and spa.  Kristin recently took on the responsibility of being the chief groomer – making dogs and cats beautiful again!

Bethy, Guest Service Manager

Bethy was born and raised in Statesville, NC.  She attended North Iredell High School and graduated in 2008.  She has 5 Corgis (Bootsie, Cinch, Dixie, Leroy and Rowdy), one Australian Shepherd (Blue), 2 cats (Bullet and Gauge)and 2 horses (Concho and  Pacman).  In her time away from work, Bethy is usually in the barn.  She loves to be outdoors and participates in rodeos, where her favorite event is breakaway roping.  Bethy likes working here because she enjoys being with people and animals.

Ace and Opie, Hospital Mascots

Ace and Opie, Hospital Mascots

Ace is the darker of our two clinic cats.  He decided he wanted to stay here after his mom, Diane, thought he would make
a better clinic cat than a barn mouser.  He’s got a hard life here.  He spends his large amount of spare time sleeping, wrestling with Opie, and chasing after the Otoscope ear pieces.  We can see why he was not a champion

Opie is our three-legged, orange clinic cat.  Opie was destined to be here.  One of our clients saw him being thrown from
a car, and picked him up and brought him here to be checked out.  Little did she know that our clinic cat, Chase, had to be put to sleep that very same day.  The technicians saw it as a “sign” that Opie was meant to stay here and “work” for us.  Opie likes to sleep, wrestle with Ace, and try to find surgical suture material to ingest.  He’s very good at that, too, having already had an operation to remove suture material from his insides.  He also likes to steal empty laboratory specimen tubes and run off with them.
