Veterinarian
Dr. Samantha Lannon joined the Animal Hospital of Statesville team in 2025 after graduating as valedictorian of her veterinary class. She completed two clinical rotations here, spending a total of six weeks with us during her last year of veterinary school. She said she fell in love with the team, the practice's collaborative culture, and the high standard of medicine upheld. We are honored to add her to our exceptional group of doctors.
Dr. Lannon was born and raised in Timonium, Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology at THE Ohio State University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lannon has loved every state she's lived in, but has always felt called to make North Carolina her home since her favorite childhood memories were spent visiting her grandparents here.
Dr. Lannon finds it vital to thoroughly explain diagnostic findings and diagnoses to her clients so that they can better understand what is going on with their pet and why certain medications are being prescribed. She is especially interested in dermatology, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and palliative care. Making veterinary visits as fear-free as possible is always Dr. Lannon's goal. Both of her dogs are rescues who struggle with anxiety at the vet so she truly understands the added stress that puts on pet owners and strives to help alleviate that with her gentle nature.
When not working, Dr. Lannon loves spending time with her fiance, Zach, and their two mixed-breed dogs, Olive and Marty. She and Zach enjoy playing golf together, paddleboarding, and taking their dogs on long walks or hikes. When not doing an outdoor activity, you can find her snuggled up on the couch with her dogs and a good book or television show.
