Melissa is ANOTHER one of our Statesville natives. She graduated from Statesville High School and then went on to earn her BS in Elementary Education from University of North Carolina, Charlotte. Melissa swore that when she retired, she wanted to work with animals, so...here she is! She retired after 30 years of teaching and is now part of our Animal Hospital of Statesville Team! Melissa has two children - one daughter and one son. Currently, she has no pets, but when she does get ready again, it will be a dog! Always dogs, she says! Melissa enjoys reading, camping, crafts and horseback riding. Sounds like she has lots in common with so many of her fellow team members! Her goals in the coming years are to travel and to enjoy working with animals, like she's always wanted to do!
