Monitoring and Recovery

At AHS we take anesthesia and surgical monitoring very seriously. It is the backbone of any surgical procedure. We always place the safety of your pet first so during each procedure a veterinary nurse acts as anesthesiologist, closely monitoring each patient. Your pet is placed on a ventilator, its heart rate, oxygen saturation, carbon dioxide, blood pressure, EKG and respiratory rate are monitored and recorded. This allows any potential problem to be addressed as it arises. Each anesthesia record is then scanned into the pet’s permanent medical record.
